On 28th September, the inLane consortium gathered in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, at the Technical University of Eindhoven to undergo the project’s Midterm Review. The project officer and a reviewer from the European Commission attended the meeting in order to verify that the project is progressing according to plan and on its way to reach its objectives.

The review consisted of presentations of each of inLane’s work packages, followed by a series of questions from the European Commission. In particular, attention was drawn to the inLane software modules for lane detection, traffic sign recognition, visual odometry, data fusion, camera-to-map alignment, local dynamic maps, lane-level navigation, and map updates. Consortium partners also spoke about inLane’s activities in standardisation and the communication of project activities.

A practical demonstration of the technology developed in inLane was also provided to the European Commission representatives. A vehicle was used to illustrate inLane’s lane-level navigation capabilities. A live explanation was also provided on map updating, LDM and vehicle positioning.

The review was a success and the inLane project consortium is happy to continue work in the second half of the project.
